Wild Winds Ranch Ownership
Jason and Katie Yahnke purchased Wild Winds Ranch in 2022. Jason and Katie, along with their daughters, have many big plans for the Ranch. They are all passionate about horses and know the hard work and dedication it takes to operate a successful Horse Facility. Our Riding Lesson Instructors

Ally Butler
Hi! My name is Ally and I’m a 23 year old young professional who specializes in dressage and show jumping. I’ve been riding since I was 6 years old. I started 4-H as a Clover bud and being from Madison, I showed at Dane County Fair along with Midwest Horse Fair every year until 18 years old. After that, I continued my horse journey in Fl training for an Olympic trainer/rider before I moved on to my own gig! Throughout the last several years, I have been lucky enough to spend my show seasons at WEC Ocala and HITS Wellington providing me with my dressage medals and show jumper championship titles. I now enjoy sharing my knowledge and achievements with others in hopes I can help other riders fulfill their dreams! When giving lessons, the most important key I teach is safety. I teach beginner, intermediate and advanced riders of all ages. Whether it’s learning how to steer or riding through your Grand Prix test, I’d love to help!

Danica
Sophie Hanson
Hello! My name is Sophie Hanson, and I have been riding horses for nearly seven years. For the past four years, I have proudly been part of the La Crosse County 4-H Drill Team, and I currently care for three horses of my own. I have a true passion for barrel racing and showing my animals, and I love sharing that excitement with others. I enjoy working with families and children and strive to create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment for riders of all levels, from beginners to intermediate. I would love the opportunity to help you grow your knowledge of horses and riding, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward your dreams of becoming an equestrian. I can’t wait to help you reach your goals!

Kari Oines
Hello, my name is Kari. I am a Pre-K teacher, a mother of three, and a lifelong horse enthusiast.
I began riding at the age of six, primarily western trail riding with my family. I later expanded my skills through the 4-H horse program and competing in local gymkhanas. Over the years, I’ve continued riding and raised my children around horses as well.
I’ve also had the privilege of learning from and assisting my parents, who have spent over 30 years breeding registered, foundation-bred Quarter Horses. Their decades of experience have deeply shaped my knowledge and approach to horsemanship.
I am a certified Equine Therapy Practitioner and am passionate about combining my background in teaching children with the healing and grounding nature of horses. Whether through riding lessons, therapy sessions, or a child’s first pony ride, I love helping others build confidence, connection, and trust alongside these incredible animals.
Horses have played a powerful role in my life, and I’m excited to share that sense of harmony and healing with others here at Wild Winds Ranch.
See you at the barn!

Alexis Marinelli
Hi! My name is Alexis Marinelli. I started my horse showing career at just 3 years old and have been an avid equestrian ever since. I offer fun and engaging lessons for all levels, from beginners to intermediate riders, but also specialize in Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, and Ranch Riding for those looking to advance their skills! Whether you're just starting or ready to take your skills to the next level, I’m passionate about supporting you in becoming a stronger, more confident equestrian.

Elsa
Hi I’m Elsa! I’ve been riding English since I was a child, and over the years quickly found a love competing in the hunter/jumper world and the technical skills that come with it. I understand the importance of being in balance and learning effective communication between horse and rider. Skills that translate to success both on the flat and over fences. While English riding is where my heart lies, I also teach western lessons, which allows me to offer a well-rounded approach and adapt to different riders’ goals and interests. I enjoy working with riders of all ages and abilities, and place a strong emphasis on building confidence, technique, and fostering that partnership with the horse that makes the sport so special and rewarding. Helping people connect with their horses through trust and communication is what inspires me most!

Raina Schultz
Hi! My name is Raina. I teach beginner-intermediate hunter/jumper as well as beginner western lessons. I have been riding horses before I could walk and I was fortunate enough to grow up with them in my backyard and share the passion with my mom.

Rachel Vik
Hi my name is Rachel! I am a homeschool mom of three kids. I have always loved horses and started riding when I was 8 years old. I have been teaching riding lessons since 2008. I earned a certification through CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) and was a CHA camp instructor for 5 years. In 2014, I became a certified instructor through PATH International, teaching therapeutic riding lessons. I love sharing my passion and knowledge of horses with others. I have given lessons to riders from age 4 through 75. While western riding is my favorite, I do english lessons as well. I look forward to helping you gain confidence and connect with a horse!
